Dressers, Chests and Drawer Units
Drawer furniture can include several identical-looking panels and hardware sets, so box labels and the manual should remain available during assembly. Drawer slides need to be installed in the correct orientation before the cabinet is closed up. The final unit should be placed on a stable floor before drawer alignment is judged.
Freestanding and Modular Wardrobes
Freestanding wardrobes can be tall and wide enough that room height, ceiling fixtures and assembly space matter. Modular wardrobe systems may include multiple bays, doors, hanging rails and interior shelves. Send the planner or exact product list if several modules connect together.
Doors, Drawers, Rails and Interior Fittings
Door hinges, drawer fronts and hanging rails normally need final adjustment after the cabinet is square. Mirrors, integrated lighting or unusual accessories should be disclosed beforehand. Electrical lighting inside a wardrobe is not automatically included just because the furniture contains a light.
Leveling and Anti-Tip Considerations
Tall storage furniture may require manufacturer-supplied anti-tip hardware. Wall type and supplied mounting system should be reviewed. NY-GoodHome does not certify a universal anchor or claim that every wall is suitable without inspection.
Wardrobe Assembly vs Closet System Installation
Wall-mounted closet organizers belong under Closet System Installation, while custom built-ins use the carpentry pages. Nursery dressers can use Baby & Nursery Furniture Assembly when the room-specific context matters. Mixed household pieces can use Furniture Assembly. Send the model and room photos through Contact.
Before Assembly Begins
For a tall wardrobe, confirm ceiling height and the amount of open floor space available to build and raise the cabinet. Provide the complete module list when multiple frames connect together, and note mirrored doors or integrated accessories. If wall anchoring is required, show the wall behind the final location so the mounting condition is not left until the end of assembly.
