Details that affect the scope

Key project details include Modular Closet and Wardrobe Systems, Rails, Frames, Shelves, Drawers and Doors, Wall Conditions, Leveling and Anchoring, and Planner Links, Measurements and Component Lists. Call NY-GoodHome to discuss the project details and confirm the next step. Have the product link or model, box count if known, room or site photos, final placement and any stairs, elevators, gates or tight access ready.

Modular Closet and Wardrobe Systems

Retail and manufacturer systems can range from simple wire organizers to multi-section laminate wardrobes with drawers and doors. Send the planner export, product list or link if one exists. That allows the parts and intended layout to be checked before the installation is treated as a standard one-wall closet.

Rails, Frames, Shelves, Drawers and Doors

Wall-mounted rails, vertical standards and support brackets need accurate layout, while drawers and doors require final adjustment after the main frame is level. The sequence varies by system. Proprietary components and hardware should be present before work begins.

Wall Conditions, Leveling and Anchoring

Drywall, plaster, masonry and mixed wall construction can change the mounting method. Manufacturer requirements should be compared with the actual wall, and the scope should not be described with a universal anchor promise. If the wall needs significant repair or reinforcement, that becomes a separate project question.

Planner Links, Measurements and Component Lists

Provide the closet width, height and depth, along with any online planner or component list. Note baseboards, outlets, access panels or sloped ceilings that affect the layout. If the customer still needs a custom design rather than installation of a purchased system, that is outside this standard assembly scope.

Modular Installation vs Custom Closet Design

Freestanding wardrobes belong under Dresser & Wardrobe Assembly. Standard wall shelves belong under Shelving Installation, while custom built-ins use Custom Shelving & Bookcase Installation. Use Contact with the planner and wall photos.

Before Installation Is Scheduled

Provide the planner or a simple elevation showing where each rail, shelf, drawer and hanging section belongs. Measure the usable wall width after allowing for doors, trim and baseboards, and note whether existing closet components must first be removed. If the proposed system relies on custom-cut panels or fabrication that was not included with the purchased kit, that requirement should be identified before installation is accepted.
