Re-Screen Existing Frames
If the frame is straight and reusable, replacing torn or damaged mesh can be more appropriate than replacing the entire screen. Send photos of the corners, spline channel and frame condition. Specialty screen systems may need brand-specific parts.
Bent, Corroded or Missing Screen Frames
A bent or heavily corroded frame may not hold new mesh correctly. Missing screens require accurate measurements and may involve fabrication beyond ordinary re-screening. NY-GoodHome does not claim in-house custom frame fabrication until that capability is approved.
Fiberglass, Metal and Specialty Mesh Options
Mesh material can differ in visibility, durability and intended use. The customer should identify the desired replacement material or product. Pet-resistant or specialty mesh is not automatically supplied.
Measurements, Quantity and Window Type
Provide frame width/height if known, window count and whether the screens are removable from inside. Different windows in the same home may use different sizes, so one sample screen should not automatically be assumed to fit every opening.
On-Site vs Drop-Off or Custom Screen Scope
Access and fabrication method can change how the work is handled. A straightforward on-site re-screen is different from building several new custom frames. Those logistics should be clarified before scheduling.
Window Screen vs Screen Door Repair
Door screens use Screen Door Installation & Repair. Window operation problems use General Window Repair, and frame damage to the window itself uses Window Frame Repair. Use Contact with dimensions and photos.
Before Screen Work Is Scheduled
Measure each screen/frame rather than assuming all windows match, and photograph the corners, spline channel and any bent sections. State whether the existing frames can be removed from inside. If new custom frames are required rather than simple re-screening, that distinction should be confirmed before the project is accepted.
