Audio and Video Installation in New York

Home audio and video projects can involve TVs, projectors, speakers, receivers and streaming devices, but product setup should be separated from permanent electrical or security-system work. NY-GoodHome can review selected consumer AV mounting, connection and setup when the equipment and cable requirements are clear. NY-GoodHome does not claim Control4 or other dealer certification, structured-wiring licensing, networking certification or new in-wall mains-power work.

Where related scopes separate

TV & Soundbar Mounting owns simple TV mounting. In-wall mains power/new outlets require electrician; surveillance/security is separate licensed area.

Details that affect the scope

Key project details include TV, Projector, Speaker and Receiver Setup, Device Connections and Source Planning, Speaker Placement and Mounting, and Visible vs Concealed Low-Voltage Cabling. Call NY-GoodHome to discuss the project details and confirm the next step. Send the exact device or fixture model plus photos of the existing location and controls. State clearly whether wiring, boxes, circuits or new power are involved.

TV, Projector, Speaker and Receiver Setup

Provide a complete equipment list with model numbers. A receiver, TV, streaming device and speaker package may need HDMI, optical, speaker or network connections that are already part of the consumer products. Projectors introduce throw distance, screen position and ceiling/wall mounting questions. Simple TV-only mounting has a dedicated TV & Soundbar Mounting page.

Device Connections and Source Planning

List the intended sources—streaming box, game console, cable box, turntable or another device—and which display or speakers they should use. Normal patch-cable connection is different from installing new electrical circuits or designing commercial AV infrastructure. Customer accounts and passwords should remain under customer control during app/device setup.

Speaker Placement and Mounting

Bookshelf, soundbar, in-wall-style and surface-mounted speakers can have different mounting and cable paths. NY-GoodHome does not claim installation of every in-wall system or structural ceiling speaker without review. Send speaker dimensions, brackets and wall/ceiling material before assuming a normal mounting scope.

Visible vs Concealed Low-Voltage Cabling

Visible cable routing and customer-supplied surface channels are different from opening walls or performing permanent structured cabling. Concealed cable requests need the wall construction and building rules reviewed. NY-GoodHome does not represent itself as a licensed low-voltage/security contractor from this page.

New Outlets and Mains-Power Boundaries

If a TV, projector or receiver location lacks suitable power, installing or relocating an outlet is electrical work and belongs outside ordinary AV setup. Electrical Outlet Installation & Replacement is retained as a qualification-screening page, not proof that NY-GoodHome can do that work.

Simple TV Mounting vs Broader AV Setup

Use the TV mounting page for one screen/soundbar. Plug-in smart-device setup can connect to Smart Home Device Installation. Surveillance/security equipment is deliberately separate. Send devices, room photos, mounting surfaces and cable preferences through Contact before the project is confirmed.

Before AV Setup Is Scoped

List every source, display, speaker and receiver, and show where each item will sit or mount. State whether all required power outlets already exist and whether cables may remain visible or must be concealed. If the request involves opening walls, running permanent structured cable or adding power, that expanded scope must be separated before normal consumer AV setup is considered.
