Portable and Prefab Fire Pits
Consumer metal or modular fire pits may arrive as boxed products with legs, bowls, surrounds or tables. Send the exact product and fuel type. Assembly of a supplied portable unit is different from building a permanent fire feature into a patio.
Built-In and Masonry Fire-Pit Systems
Built-in systems can involve masonry, fire-rated materials, foundations, gas piping and site design. Those are specialist/contractor scopes. This page must not treat them as a larger version of a boxed fire pit.
Wood, Propane and Natural-Gas Fuel Types
Fuel type matters. A portable propane product using its own listed components differs from a permanently piped gas installation. NY-GoodHome does not offer gas-line work or combustion-system approval without appropriate qualifications.
Surface, Clearance and Property Location
Manufacturer instructions and property rules govern suitable locations and clearances. The website should not publish one universal distance or legal location for every property. Send site photos and the product instructions.
Gas, Electrical and Masonry Boundaries
New gas piping, hardwired electrical components and constructed masonry are separate qualified work. Masonry & Concrete Repair and General Electrical Services are themselves requires scope review.
Building and Fire Rules Before Permanent Installation
Permanent systems may require additional review. Fireplace Assembly & Installation is not currently offered as a standard bookable service for similar combustion reasons; Outdoor Kitchen & Counter Installation can also involve utilities. Use Contact only to screen a manufacturer-defined portable/prefab product scope.
Before a Portable Fire-Pit Scope Is Considered
Provide the product/fuel type, assembled dimensions, proposed surface and full-area photos. State whether the unit is truly freestanding/portable and uses only manufacturer-supplied components. If the request includes permanent gas piping, electrical wiring, built-in masonry or a new foundation, stop treating it as product assembly and route to qualified trade/contractor scope.
This page is kept for topic coverage, but NY-GoodHome does not present the regulated or specialist work as an available service until the required qualifications are established.
