Drop-In, Undermount and Vessel Sink Types
Identify sink type/material and provide the manufacturer template. Undermount systems can depend on countertop material and support; vessel/drop-in sinks use different openings.
Countertop Opening and Cabinet Clearance
The existing opening, cabinet width and drawer/garbage-disposal clearances matter. Stone/quartz cutout changes belong to specialist countertop fabrication.
Drain, Trap and Existing Supply Connections
Existing compatible drain/supplies should be photographed externally. Changing pipe layout, shutoffs or drains is licensed plumbing work and is not assumed.
Leaks, Loose Mounting and Localized Repair
A loose sink or failed seal can differ from a supply/drain leak. Active plumbing leakage should be evaluated by a qualified plumber rather than hidden by remounting/caulk.
Sink vs Faucet or Vanity Project
Faucet work uses Faucet Repair & Installation; bathroom combinations may use Bathroom Vanity & Mirror Installation.
When a Licensed Plumber Is Required
If new water/drain lines, shutoffs, disposal piping or relocation is needed, use a licensed plumber. Countertop work uses the countertop page. Contact may be used only to screen a narrow compatible-existing-connection scope if the scope is confirmed.
Before a Sink Request Is Screened
Provide sink model, dimensions, mounting type, countertop material/opening and cabinet interior photos. Show only safe exterior plumbing connections and state whether the existing drain/supplies/shutoffs remain in the same location. If the countertop needs a new stone cutout, piping must move or a disposal/faucet setup changes substantially, separate those specialist scopes before treating the request as a compatible sink installation.
Parts of this project may require a licensed, structural or specialist provider. The page keeps those boundaries explicit.
