Sliding Patio Door Installation vs Repair
A door that rolls poorly may only need roller/track service, while a damaged unit or replacement product can create a larger installation. Send photos of the full opening, track and panel labels if available. A new unit should not be assumed to fit an existing opening without measurements.
Worn Rollers, Tracks and Alignment
Worn rollers can make a panel heavy or uneven, and debris/damage in the track can affect movement. Roller adjustment or replacement depends on the door system. Bent structural tracks or damaged frames may exceed normal hardware repair.
Handles, Locks and Closing Problems
Handles, latches and strike alignment can be reviewed as part of the sliding-door system. High-security/locksmith work is not implied. If the door will not close because the panel is sagging or the frame is distorted, that condition should be identified before hardware is replaced.
Screen Panels and Related Door Components
Many patio doors include a sliding screen. Screen mesh/frame repair can connect to the dedicated Screen Door or Window Screen pages depending on the system. The glass slider and the screen should not be treated as the same component.
Heavy Glass Panels and Access
Sliding glass panels can be large and heavy. NY-GoodHome does not claim every glass-panel removal/replacement or specialty impact-door scope. Access, floor protection and whether panels must be carried through stairs/elevators should be disclosed.
Sliding Patio Door vs Pocket Door
Interior doors that disappear into a wall use Pocket Door Installation, and standard hinged doors use General Door Installation & Repair. Screen-only issues use Screen Door Installation & Repair. Send photos through Contact.
Before Sliding-Door Work Begins
Show the full door from inside, the bottom/top track, handle/lock and any screen panel. Describe whether the panel is heavy, dragging, jumping the track, leaking or failing to latch. If glass is cracked or the frame is distorted, flag that separately because glass replacement or structural-frame work should not be treated as a normal roller/alignment repair.
