Appliance Installation in New York

Appliance installation can be a simple placement/connection project when the correct water, drain, vent and power services already exist—or it can require plumbing, gas, electrical or cabinet work. Those scopes must be separated before NY-GoodHome offers the service. A narrowly confirmed existing-connection installation scope may be publishable; new gas lines, hardwiring, plumbing changes and vent construction are not assumed.

What to know before you schedule

Use these points to confirm that this service matches your project and to keep separate work scopes from getting mixed together.

✓

What this service covers

Installation/setup of appliances where existing compatible water/drain/vent/power connections are present; washer/dryer/dishwasher/range type changes scope.

↗

Where related scopes separate

New gas lines, hardwiring, plumbing changes, vent construction and built-in carpentry are separate trades/scopes.

Details that affect the scope

Key project details include Washer, Dryer and Laundry Installations, Dishwasher and Kitchen Appliance Installations, Existing Water, Drain, Vent and Power Connections, and Built-In vs Freestanding Appliances. Call NY-GoodHome to discuss the project details and confirm the next step. Provide the model/serial information when available, installation location, existing connections and clear photos of the surrounding access and utility setup.

Washer, Dryer and Laundry Installations

Provide washer/dryer models, stacked or side-by-side layout, existing hot/cold supply, drain, vent and power type. Gas dryers require appropriate gas-trade scope; new vents or outlets are separate.

Dishwasher and Kitchen Appliance Installations

Dishwashers rely on compatible opening, supply/drain and power. Ranges and refrigerators can have water/gas/electrical requirements. Existing services must be documented rather than silently modified.

Existing Water, Drain, Vent and Power Connections

The page should explicitly ask whether all connections already exist in the correct location. If not, route to qualified plumbing/electrical/gas work before installation.

Built-In vs Freestanding Appliances

Built-in units can require precise cabinet openings, trim kits or mounting. Cabinet modifications use carpentry/kitchen pages and should be scoped separately.

Apartment Access and Delivery Fit

Provide appliance dimensions and doorway/elevator/stair details. Heavy moving, haul-away and delivery are not automatically included.

When Plumbing, Gas or Electrical Work Is Required

Oven Installation & Repair and Appliance Repair have separate restrictions. Use Contact with the model and photos of existing hookups; scope must stay limited to existing compatible connections unless confirmed trades are involved.

Before Appliance Installation Is Scheduled

Provide the exact appliance model, dimensions, delivery condition and photos of the existing water, drain, vent, gas or power connection. State whether the old appliance is already removed and whether haul-away is expected. Any mismatch in opening, utility location or connection type must be resolved separately; the page should not imply that new plumbing, gas, venting or electrical work will be created during an installation visit.

Narrow Existing-Connection Scope

If confirmed, the publishable version should explicitly define which appliances are accepted and what “existing compatible connection” means for each. For example, appliance placement, leveling, anti-tip or manufacturer-supplied hoses/cords may be separate from gas fitting, hardwiring, new drains or vent construction. The final page must also define old-appliance removal and packaging/haul-away rather than allowing customers to assume those are included.
