What Kind of Garage Problem Needs Repair?
List each issue separately and show the full area. A damaged drywall patch, loose shelf and leaking roof are three different scopes.
Walls, Trim and Interior Finish Issues
Selected drywall/trim/paint damage can connect to painting/carpentry categories. Moisture source should be addressed before cosmetic repair.
Storage and Cabinet-Related Repairs
Loose modular cabinets or shelves can fit ordinary installation/repair when supports are sound. Custom built-ins and structural wall systems are separate.
Floor/Surface and Moisture Clues
Cracked/settled slabs or recurring water entry can indicate structural/drainage issues; this broad page should not promise slab/foundation repair.
Garage Door and Electrical Boundaries
Garage-door systems have specialist pages; fixed electrical work remains licensed. This page explicitly excludes those categories.
Minor Repair vs Remodeling or Structural Work
Garage conversions, structural changes and major remodels belong under renovation/contractor scope. Use Garage Organization for storage, General Home Repair for broader multi-room tasks, and Contact with a precise garage task list.
Before Garage Repair Is Scheduled
Photograph each item and note whether moisture, vehicle impact or another event caused the damage. Separate wall/trim/shelf issues from slab cracks, foundation movement, roof leaks, door mechanics and electrical problems. If the customer wants a garage conversion, new room, insulation/HVAC or structural alterations, route it to renovation/contractor scope rather than using the broad repair page.
Examples of Work That Should Route Elsewhere
Garage-door springs/tracks go to specialist garage-door scope; new outlets or lighting go to licensed electrical scope; slab settlement/foundation cracks go to qualified structural/masonry scope; roof leaks go to roofing; and a conversion to living space belongs to remodeling/permit work. Keeping these boundaries in the copy prevents the broad “garage repair” page from becoming an unsupported promise to repair every part of the garage.
